STEVE POWER, Head Coach, Primary Training Coach – Jr/Sr Group

Steve Power was born and raised in Northern California, taught himself to swim at age 5. At age 7 he joined a summer team. At age 11 he began swimming year round, set individual medley National Age Group records, was a high school All American, a four year Division I College All-American, won a gold medal and set a meet record in the 400 IM at the 1970 World University Games. Steve was proudly inducted into the University of Washington Husky Hall of Fame in 1995. He began coaching at age 13 and is beginning his 52nd year of involvement with competitive swimming. His joys in life are his wife and their four cats.
ZACH SMITH, Asst. Coach, Primary Training Coach – D3 Group

Zach Smith has been a member of the SCAY Aqualions since 1999. This is his 3rd season working as an assistant coach. Zach is a freshman at Penn State and also works as a lifeguard at the YMCA. He enjoys working with children and is excited to be continuing with the team and seeing many of the kids he has coached in years past excel into other age groups. His favorite pastimes are reading, listening to music and swimming.
