SCAY News - March 2 States/Districts/Banquet

Several people have asked me if their children can still swim with the team, even though they didn’t make District times. The answer is YES. You are very welcome to keep swimming until the end of this season! (the end of March) More to follow from Steve…
SCAY Banquet/Date Saver: Our annual SCAY Banquet is scheduled for Friday, April 16th at the Park Forest Baptist Church. It is a lot of fun for swimmers and families. Swimmers will receive trophies and envelopes with their best times of the season. We will congradulate and hear from our graduating seniors. And there will be lots of food! Need for Shopping Bags for StatesFrom Mechteld Hillsley, T-shirt chair at States: For t-shirt distribution at States we are in need of sturdy shopping bags of all sizes (small – xlarge to fit anywhere from 1-20 shirts). Please set any donated bags by the file cabinet at the Y. Donations can be made at anytime from now until March 16. Thank you! Mechteld Hillsley States Volunteer NeedsThank you to all who have volunteered to help at States this year. We still need help in the following areas:
Saturday Morning: Security (2), T-shirts and flowers (1), male messenger (1 teen), awards (1 teen)
Saturday Afternoon: Admissions (1), Security (3), Seeding/Seating (1)
Sunday Morning: Admissions (2), Seeding/Seating (1), Awards (2 teens)
Sunday Afternoon: Security (3), t-shirts/flowers (3) teen male and female messengers Please see the attached schedule for times, etc. This represents State College obligations only. The total number needed at each spot, which includes Bellefonte and State College, is in parentheses. Please sign up via email (jkoberna@stompit.net) or telephone 466-6163 ASAP! National Anthem Singer for StatesWe still are in need of one more SCAY singer for the National Anthem at States. Our very own Maddie Myford will be singing Saturday afternoon. Please let me know if you know of a swimmer with a nice voice who would be interested and willing to do this for us. DistrictsIf this is the first year your child has qualified for Districts, please don’t hesitate to contact me or another board member or parent rep if you have questions that weren’t answered in last week’s SCAY News.
