SUBJ: Transition to the High School Season
This is always an interesting time of the year. As the high school season I regret not being able to work with some of you because you will train with the high school team. On the flip side I know you guys get excited about the high school season. Continue to work hard and stop by and see your SCAY teammates once in awhile - and best of luck with the high school season.
Here are some points to remember:
- For the returning high school swimmers when you have morning only practices during tryouts I expect you to attend SCAY afternoon practices.
- During tryout week SCAY morning dryland is cancelled. We will start up again on Monday, November 30.
- I spoke with Todd and he indicated he and Pete may offer dryland because it may be that NLAC will lose their morning dryland time. I want you to continue doing your dryland with SCAY on Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Should Pete and Todd conduct morning swim sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, I expect you to attend these practices.
Remember the following:
- You need two KYSL meets to participate in KYSL Champs (February 20)
- You need three YMCA meets (which include KYSL meets) to participate in Districts (March 13-14)
- You must participate in Districts to participate in States (March 20-21)
- You need Districts or States to participate in Nationals (April 7-10)
I expect all SCAY swimmers who qualify to participate in all the above meets.
I have mentioned to you that this has been the funnest year I have had at SCAY. The reason is you guys. You have come to work and be a team. Let's keep it going by working hard, supporting your teammates, and staying in touch.
P.S. Tomorrow is our last practice together before high school season. I am thinking things round and hot, some with pineapple, some with pepperoni, some with cheese.
